Africa Together Conference

THE TEA

After receiving a great reference from a colleague, the committee at the African Society of the University of Cambridge sought me out to handle  all their marketing material for their conference. Following a great relationship with the society, this has then developed into an recurring role for the last 2 consecutive years 2017, 2018 and currently 2019.

SHEBREWS

For every conference, my design thinking began with the theme of the conferences. These included

  • Africa and a world in transition 2017
  • Pathways to a new Africa 2018.
  • Which way forward? Africa and the Global Agenda for sustainable development 2019

For some of the designs I took them quite literally. For example the 2018 I used tech paths through Africa to show pathways, and a landscape of Africa for the background made of African Fabric. Others such as my first project in 2017, before i properly developed my branding mindset! I just decided hmm… But is it pretty tho. These projects have been quite exciting to work on and see my own personal growth through them.

For most years my work has been to develop the conference package. This would include the conference poster, programme, presentation slides, creative speaker profiles, additional material such as bags, and labels. In the latest conference (2019), this also involved rebranding of the website to a fresh more minimalistic look in line with the branding from the poster
